You may also find welding gear at the local home improvement center, but check it over very carefully if you are going to buy it there. The quality of equipment in some places may be fine for home use, but may not be up to the standards for a professional welder and cutting corners with safety is never a good option when you are dealing with electricity, heat, and gas.
